Priorities

button for MU

This is a subject that i could use a little practice in. I have been know to get things all messed up and when things are not put in the correct order it seems they all crumble into a big messy pile of crap. Kristen at Motherhood Uncensored invited us all to partake in 2009: The Year of the Mom by writing about what we will do this year to take better care of ourselves. I for one think i not only deserve to take better care of myself but also desperately need to do so.

My priorities as they stand go something like this: Clean the house on a daily basis, make sure the kids are fed, clothed, and bathed daily, play with the kids and teach them, make sure hubby is satisfied with his life in what ever way it should be addressed, make sure the bills get paid on time as to avoid cut off notices, and somewhere after all of this and more i find time for me to get 10 minutes to just breathe.

This year i want to try and bump me up the list. A happy mama makes for a happy family right? There are and have been so many times where i just don't put my needs first when i sometimes should. I want to pamper me sometimes and take care of my stress level.

Things i would like to do for me this year include: Getting a mani/pedi at least once every 2 months, taking 30 minutes a day to read a few chapters out of a book in silence, turn off the TV and computer and just be with myself to think about me, get in at least 30 minutes of exercise a day even if it means ust walking down the road and back again, eat healthies so that i can be the best me i can for my family, and get some good quality sleep.

Now i know those things don't sound like a lot but those are the top of my priority list this year to make me a happy, healthy, stress free mama so that i intern can make my family a happy, healthy, stress free family. I believe happiness starts with one and can spread to many so i plan on spreading the happy bug.

I have a million other things to accomplish this year some more important than others but i will make time for me. I will think about me and how i am affecting my family. I will complain less and be thankful more. I will remember that this is 2009: The Year of the Mom!

I know how hard it is to accomplish even the most basic things as a mom. Good for you for even setting them as goals. I wish you the best of luck in achieving your goals. Happy New Year!
