40 Weeks: Hangin In There

Weight: 224 didn't gain anything this week so still up 18 lbs from pre-pregnancy weight.
BP: 108/80
Sione's HR: 120's, Made me a little nervous at first that it was so low but she wasn't worried about it since i hadn't eaten recently and he was in a rest period which both lead to a lower heart rate.
Measurements: 41 cm/wks same as last week
Position: Still head down...wish he would push his little way out lol
Progress: No check, we are saving that for next week

So i am officially 40 weeks today! I never thought i would make it this far since Phabian and MJ were born early but seems i am here and finding myself more patient than i thought possible.

I am holding steady at +18lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight. My blood pressure is still great and i am not showing any signs of too much swelling. Sione's heart rate was a little low today in the 120's but i also had not eaten before my appointment and he was asleep (or in one of his less active times during the day). She didn't seem worried about it so i am not either. She confirmed he is very stretched out but not an extremely big baby (just long). She did not check me today but we did talk a lot about what is coming.

I have a NST on Thursday to check him and his fluid levels. She wants me to (although she said this more to Marcus) have as much sex as possible to help soften my cervix lol. Like he has a problem with that! If i have not went into labor by next Wednesday she wants me to try a little caster oil the day before my appointment and then if that doesn't help on Wednesday we will discuss more stripping my membranes or possibly even breaking my water (not really what we want to do because of the group b strep). Either way we are pretty much planning that he will be here next week.

We joked for awhile about not wanting me to go to 42 weeks as it is the day before Thanksgiving and none of us wanna be delivering a baby on Thanksgiving lol. So with fingers crossed i will be meeting my little man sometime in the next week!!! I am so excited!

39 Weeks: He Is Never Coming Out

Weight: 224 up 4 lb from last week and 18 lbs from pre-pregnancy weight. Someone needs to lay off the Halloween candy lol!
BP: 104/70
Sione's HR: 140
Measurements: 41 cm/wks still measuring big
Position: Still head down...way down lol
Progress: I am still 2cm and not feeling like a laboring cervix

So besides the disappointing weight gain i am a little bit depressed about the lack of progress. It seems i have been having some very painful Braxton Hick Contractions but nothing more than that.

The midwife did reassure me today that even if it feels unready at the moment i could still go home and go into labor tonight. She said cervix checks are just not a accurate reading of labor.

She also settled my fears of going over due. She felt the baby and his position and said he is not a big baby. He is however very stretched out and relaxing. Which is why he feels so big to me. She said he has plenty of room to grow and I have very good birthing hips that will allow for a great delivery.

So the next few weeks will be a mix of NST tests (if i make it to 40 weeks), amniotic fluid checks, and waiting.

Tomorrow would have been my Mom's birthday so i am still holding out hope that he could share that very special day with her but i wont hold my breathe lol.

I am feeling much better about how things are going and although i am still tired, exhausted, in pain and ready for him to get here, I am also willing to wait and give him the time he needs to grow.

Such a great attitude i know! We will see how long it lasts though lol!

38 Weeks and Impatiently Waiting

Weight: 220 up 1 lb from last week and 14 lbs from pre-pregnancy weight.
BP: 118/80
Sione's HR: 140
Measurements: 40 cm/wks back to being 2 weeks ahead
Position: Still head down and no longer back to back with me.
Progress: She didn't check me again today and i didn't ask so no new news really.

So no news! No checking! No baby!!!!

I am STILL having contractions but just more random.

He is was down in my pelvis and my pelvic bone feels like it just might snap in half.

I am running fast out of patients with Sione' and my body, my kids, myhusband, and anyone or thing that crosses my path.

I am however grateful to my sister who took me to dinner and a movie Monday night. She wanted to take me out for a night before Sione' does get here. We went to Chili's to eat and then went and to go see Saw VI. I had a blast and it was a great movie.

So really nothing to update on. Same old same old and i am just sooooooooooo ready!

Eviction Notice: 37 Weeks and Midwife Update

Weight: 219 up 1 lb from last week and 13 lbs from pre-pregnancy weight.
BP: 104/68
Sione's HR: 145 and right up near the skin of my lower belly.
Measurements: 37 cm/weeks. Right on for my actual due date.
Position: Still head down and no longer back to back with me.
Progress: She didn't check me today and i didn't ask so no new news really. I am having some mild contractions here and there but nothing serious. Plan on doing a lot of walking from here on out.

I am officially giving Sione' his eviction notice as of today! His lease is up and he hasn't paid rent in almost a year so i think it is more than fair to ask him to vacate the premises lol!

On a more serious note i tested positive for GBS (Group B Strep) but the midwife assured me that all is ok and as long as i get my antibiotics then i should have no problem. We talked a lot about different scenarios and problems with my current pediatrician but we have a plan and it works for all of us.

I wont say much just that my pediatrician is not very pro birth center or midwife and it is causing some problems. He wants me to admit the baby back into the hospital for 48 hr observation after i give birth (since i tested GBS+) and i do not think it is necessary after talking about it with my midwives. I think it is actually more risky to expose a newborn to the hostile germ filled hospital if it is not truly needed.

Anyways we also talked about when i need to call them and when i need to leave to go to the center. I will be ask to come in a little earlier than a normal delivery since i am GBS+ and they want to make sure i get my antibiotics in.

Other than that i am just playing the waiting game now. He is free to show his face any time now and i am getting so excited. I am really ready for it now and plan on doing a lot of walking and other things ***;)*** to hopefully speed along his arrival. I am just done being pregnant and ready to meet my little man!

Almost There: 36 Week Pictures and Midwife Update

Weight: 218 up 1 lb from 2 weeks ago and 12 lbs from pre-pregnancy weight. She assured me that the 1 lb is probably all baby at this point though.
BP: 110/80 which is a little high for me but still very very normal.
Sione's HR: 140's and very strong.
Measurements: 38 cm/weeks. If i am still measuring this far head (2 weeks essentially) next week we will schedule another U/S to see if we can find the cause (either big baby or excess fluid).
Position: He is definitely head down (way down) and he is also at the moment back to back with me which we want to avoid since that is the cause of back labor. She suggested i spend some time a couple times a day on all fours (which hubby just lights up about; sicko) or bending over.
Progress: She checked me upon my request (due to my history of 37/38 week delivery) and i am 2cm dilated and 50% effaced. She said it is no where near a laboring cervix but that it is a great start for 36 weeks.

As far as how i am feeling well i bet you can guess. I am sooooo uncomfortable! Just ready to meet my little man and find out what he looks like and how big he is.

I finally got my bag partially packed. I have all the stuff i need for him in the bag and still need to get my stuff in there. I am going to pack a separate back with some snacks, toys, and such for the kids and myself.

This weekend i am going to try and find a comfy robe and a night gown for the birth. I decided if i end up in the tub a sports bra will probably be worn so that is already taken care of. Just need to finish it all up and put it in the car for when the time comes.

I had my maternity pics done yesterday and i can not wait to share with you all. I just know they turned our beautiful! She did some great shots of all the boys and me, just Marcus and I, and then me by myself. I can not wait to share.

So that is it for this week. I have my 37 week appointment next Tuesday and i will have another update next Wednesday. Till then just holding Mr. Sione' in!

Pumpkin Festival

Saturday we went to the local Pumpkin Festival. The kids had a blast seeing all the huge pumpkins and crafts. We bought fudge (Amaretto Chocolate Swirl is the best thing ever) and lots of fatty foods. The best thing i found though...the sign above! I want it to hang on my porch.
It was a fun day of family and well fun! The kids were exhausted and so was I by the time we left. The artisans were amazing and there was just so much to see.

Football Is In Our Future

I have boys! Glorious, rambunctious, rough and tumble, boys!

With our third boy on the way, I cannot deny that I have wondered from time to time what it must feel like for others to finally be having (or have) a little girl. The pink and frilly stuff. The Mom and Daughter bonding activities. The sweetness that is sugar and spice instead of snails and puppy tails.

Then I stop and think how happy I am to be a Mommy to 3 boys! The moments I sometimes catch on film are priceless and not to say I would have never caught my little girl doing these things, but to watch my boys with their Daddy is more than warming to my heart.

Friday evening before football practice Phabian had put all his cars into a circle, and announced when ask by his Dad what he was doing, that, "They are having a football huddle"!

That is all it took for my husband to be in the floor with him lining up the cars and telling Phabian which car was playing what position. They spent 30 minutes talking about the cars and the different positions. It was a moment I couldn't let pass me by.

Later Marcus told me he use to spend hours as a kid in his room practicing his football line ups with his cars. He didn't need a play book; all he needed was what little he knew and a bunch of cars to start a game of Matchbox Football.

It was a moment i am sure I will always remember between my totally boyish little boys and there football enthused Daddy.

Yes I am a Mommy to 3 boys and I would not have it any other way.

10 Weeks To Go

I had my 30 Week check up today! I can not believe i am almost done. Only 10 more weeks (or less given my history) and i will be holding my brand new baby boy! I know 10 weeks sounds like a long time but i am sure it will fly by! There is so much to do and so little time to get it all where i want it. Anyways here are my stats for this week:

Weight: 215 down a pound from 3 weeks ago, so i am holding steady below a 10lb gain
BP: 108/74
Sione's HR: In the 130's
Measurements: Still measuring about a week ahead but that is no biggie.

So all is good and I have my next appointment in 2 weeks! Woohoo!!!

WW - A Day At Summerfest '09

This past Saturday My friends Mary and Sara took the boys to a local fair. It is called Summerfest and it is in South Charleston, WV. They have lots of things to do, food to eat, and music to listen to. The kids had a blast and i got a 2 hour break (which i spent at the grocery store with hubby).

The boys loved the horses and the carriage ride. Although Phabian was not to happy about the wait in line to ride the carriage, he told me "Mama that line was looooooooong and we had to wait forever". The horses were beautiful and looked so strong. I wish i could have been there (but this outing was the same day as this and i deperatly needed those 2 hours).

The boys enjoyed snowcones and a go in the bouncey house. They danced to the music and Phabian learned how to do the Bunny Hop! They returned home tired and hungry but over all exited to have been.

I will appologize for the grainy quality of the pictures. I sent my Flip Camera with them so i could have videos of all the fun and these are all snap shots (minus one can you find it?) taken from the video.

Speaking of the videos i will post them as soon as get them loaded onto YouTube.
