Prime Example
This is prime example of why you need a turn table and a proper spatula when putting together a cake. Not to mention why it is always better to make your own frosting (this was a good frosting just wasn't the right consistency for what i needed it to be). I am so disappointed but i must say that i wasn't trying to create a master piece, just playing around with flavors more or less. I made a orange butter cream that is out of this world. I used Betty Crocker Whipped Butter Cream Frosting (which btw Betty Crocker is donating during the month of October to the fight for a cure for Breast Cancer so take into consideration with all you baking needs) and added pure orange extract and food dye to give it pop. Flavor wise it turned out spectacular. Look wise i am in desperate need of a cake turn table and a spatula. AHHHHHH put it on the list of things i need to get this business started. Anyways i am going to post some pics. Pls don't be harsh and remember this was about flavor not look. I do however think it would make an adorable snowman lol. If i did a mint butter cream and added some adornments. Just too cute!!! I think i will keep that in mind for Christmas lol!!!

Don't Know How To Act
For the first time in about a year i am home alone with my husband for the night. I know this may sound weird but i am sure some mommy out there in bloggy land can relate to this. I don't know how to act. I don't know if i should enjoy the peace and quiet, attack my husband, or do cartwheels in the middle of the floor. Hey maybe i will just do all three but either way i am kid free for the next 24 hours (well not that long probably til about noon tomorrow). So i am going to leave it at that. I am making a cake right now. They just came out of the oven and are cooling. I made an orange butter cream for the filling. It is a plain white cake with vanilla frosting so i thought it needed some flavor. I also put some food dye in it so that when i cut it the orange will pop out. I will try to take some pics when i am done and let ya know how it tasted. So i am off to enjoy my kid free night!!!

Business
I am a Creator of imagination businesses, I say this because i am forever coming up with new ideas for a business i want to start. I have had many ideas. Usually they are based off of a show i have watched or something that spoke to my interests. This time is no different and this also isn't a new idea just a revisitation of an old one.
I love to cook, but more than cooking i love to bake. Cookies, cakes, cupcakes, bread, i love it all! I have been watching this new show that comes on after Bridezilla, on Oxygen Channel, called Amazing Wedding Cakes. I have decided if i were to go into business for myself this is what i want to do. Since i love to bake and i am able to do it decently i would love to make amazing cakes for peoples special occasions. Here in WV i only know of one place that does these weird, kooky, or amazing designs and i have not heard rave reviews about them. So i think this would be a great idea to pursue.
Personally i think making cakes is a definite money maker. Even though the economy is slumping there are certain things that people will still go on with. Needing cakes is one of them. People will still be getting married, having birthdays, baby showers, anniversaries, and other celebrations. Most of these require a cake, and most people would enjoy a exiting, well made cake. Not to mention it doesn't hurt for it to be exciting and beautiful. This is a job i could really dive into and be happy with.
I have decided to start laying out a plan. Maybe start with making cakes in my home for family and friends for special occasions. Then maybe from there, just like many businesses, i can get referral clients. Eventually maybe i will be able to make some money and open a small business or just be able to afford advertising. I want to make a plan and start working on it. This is something that taps into my passion. I love to cook, bake and have fun. A friend of mine was talking about possibly opening a catering business so maybe i could attach myself with her. Usually where there is catering there is a need for cake right? So tell me what you think. Good idea, bad idea, am i insane?
I guess we will see. I need to so some practice runs on some cakes and maybe see what designs i can photograph and get a portfolio of cakes going. I am sure my kids wont mind eating a bunch of cake lol. I will keep you guys updated with my ideas about this. Hopefully i can do something with it.

My Yesterday
Allow me to preface this by saying that my husband is a great man. he doesn't go out and party. he doesn't force me to stay home with the kids. he never spend his paycheck on anything that is not needed. He isn't a bad husband and defiantly not a bad father. What he is, is a MAN!!!
The one thing that he lacks in is the ability to comprehend my day to day life. He seems to be under the impression that a magic fairy comes and cleans our house and takes care of the kids while i sit on my butt all day, on the computer or watching TV, essentially doing nothing. If only this were true. If only i had Tinker Bell in my back pocket and could wait til he tip toes out the door at 6:30 am for work to let her out and do her JOB!
Alas this is not the case. When he leaves so early in the morning for work i manage to get the kids to sleep till a very late 8am and then i am up. I do take the first 2 hours of my morning, after i fix the kids breakfast, to check my email and all the blogs that i read, along with my myspace. Then i usually send the next 3 to 5 hours cleaning, cooking, playing with kids, and even more cleaning. Finally around 5 or 6 i get to sit down and watch a little TV before i am back up to fix dinner for my hungry brood of boys.
Now where this "Yesterday" comes in is here. Friday night, as we laid in bed talking, my dear sweet husband and i got into a fight about the kitchen. We have had an agreement, since before we were married, that i so not do kitchens. I cook and i do not feel that i should have to do everything in this house. I clean everything else there for we agreed that cleaning the kitchen (which consists of washing dishes, wiping off the counters, and vacuuming the floor [the house we rent for some god awful reason has carpet in the kitchen and bathroom]) is his one job. I do not expect him to do anything else after he gets home from work. Better yet let me explain his day to you.
My husband works at Chili's (For those of you not familiar it is a chain restaurant that serves baby back ribs among other foods). He goes in between 6 and 7 am and usually gets off between 3 and 5 pm 5 days a week. After he gets home he checks his myspace, reads the paper, and plays with the kids while i cook dinner (if i wanted to bitch about this it would be another entry because that is another responsibility of his to keep the kids out of the kitchen while i am cooking). He gives the kids a bath after dinner and then we sing them a few songs or read to them and tuck them in for the night. After that if football is on he does that. If i am watching TV he plays his x-box, or plays on the computer. Now somewhere in here he is suppose to do the dishes. It never happens. NEVER!!!
The reason we argued Friday night was this; there were no clean dishes. Not one clean pot, clean fork, or clean dish to eat off of. I can not cook dinner if i have no clean dishes. So we fought and i went to bed mad. Apparently he doesn't care if i just hand the kids a box of cereal and tell them to eat straight out of the box because we have no clean bowls.
Anyways i spent 3 1/2 hours yesterday washing dishes and cleaning the kitchen (yes that is how dirty it was and that is actually how long it took me to clean it). He worked late not getting off til 6:30 then decided it was ok to go to a friends house for 1 1/2 hours (which by the time he got home it was 8 and dinner was ready not to mention this is way out of character for him to do this with out calling me). When he got home and entered the kitchen a look of shock came over his face and then he began to pout. Like i had stolen his puppy he pouted because i had cleaned the kitchen instead of waiting on him to get off his lazy ass and do it.
So i remained silent to him till the kids were in bed and then when we went to bed i rolled over to go to sleep because i have a bad back and it was now in excruciating pain because of 3 1/2 hours of leaning over a sink. He finally after 15 minutes turned his back to me and told me "I love you" and i said "i know you do".
Now what followed was me losing my temper and being pissed. He then proceeded to keep his back turned to me as he said "I am sorry and i know that doesn't mean anything anymore cause i say it to much but i am sorry". I nicely as possible in yet a screaming whisper told him that if he was sorry he sure as hell didn't act like it. And i went to bed.
Now i am sure i have left a lot of the conversation out and i am sure there are two sides to every story but this is my blog damn it and i will write what i want. I think i deserve after all i do (not tinker bell) for him to do the one thing i ask of him. Clean the damn kitchen. Wash the damn dishes. That is all i ask and i don't think i am asking too much!!!!!!!!!!

All Grown Up
I did some collages of the kids on Picnik. They turned out very well if i do say so myself. I think i might have them printed to hang on the wall or something. But besides that just look how much my babies have grown.

Phabian ranges in age from newborn to 3 1/2 here.
MJ ranges in age from newborn to 2 1/2 here.
They just grow up way to fast. I find myself trying to remember when they were babies and the memories (although captured in pictures) tend to dull over time. I wish i would have paid more attention to the details when they were babies. I miss it. I miss the cuddle time and holding them tight. Feeding them and having their full attention. They just grow too fast.
